Q: I regularly register .ca domain names using Sibername's services.
There is a few of them of which i would find it preferable that my
name doesn't feature while still retaining the domain names
concerned. Currently, all feature my name as registrant. Is it
possible, for registered domain names of my choice, not t have my
name show when WHOIS is done by third party and if so, what are the
parameters ?
A: Domain name registration details are accessible by a whois query. The level of details depend on the registry. For .ca domain names, there is a policy change in progress and the details can be read at the CIRA web site through the link:

We do offer private registrations free of charge. If you want to hide the admin details, please login to our domain manager at
http://sibername.com/canadiandomainregistration/modify.php
and select the privacy option.
Please note the 2 important things to remember:
- you will have to confirm your changes through CIRA web site.
- all domains under the registrant you have updated will show the new admin details. Because CIRA is structured in a way that you have your registrant account and the domains under that account. So if you change the registrant details, all the domains under this registrant will also have the new admin details;
