Effective 1 November 2003, the registry operator for .uk has adopted
a 'Positive Renewal' policy. Registrants must notify the registry via
their supplier of their desire to renew a .uk registration. Full
details of the new process can be found in the User Guide v2.1.9,
page 83.

All domains expiring on or after 1 November 2003 will be handled in
the following manner.

1. The expiry date for all domains will be included in the Nominet WHOIS data.
2. Domains are only renewable within six months of its expiry date.
3. If a renewal has not be transacted for a domain the registry will suspend resolution seven days following the expiry date.
4. At sixty days following the expiry date, the registry will cancel the registration if a renewal has not been transacted.
