How do I setup mail in my HTC Nexus

Firstly, we need to find out the following details about the server and the email account:

  • server details (incoming/outgoing) :mail.yourdomainname.com
  • email address : email@yourdomainname.com
  • email username : email@yourdomainname.com
  • email password : your email account password

  1. Locate the Email application and tab on the envelope icon to launch the app.
  2. Enter your username and password into the fields presented and click next.
  3. Select POP3 or IMAP to answer the question “What Type of Account is This?”
  4. The next screen will prompt you again for your username and password, in addition to the POP3 mail server name.It will be mail.yourdomainname.com. Please do not use any SSL or security option. It should be none etc. When you set this field, you will be taken automatically to the next step.
  5. Here, you will set up the outgoing (SMTP) mail server information. Again, mail.yourdomainname.com. You will also need to indicate none to security or SSL option. Click Next to continue.
  6. Select how often you would like the Nexus One to check for new email. Also, indicate whether you want new mail notifications. Click Next to continue.
  7. The final step is to name your email account, to differentiate from your other accounts, and to enter your name as it should appear for outgoing email.
