How do I setup my email in Netscape ?

Open Netscape.

Go to Window and select Mail and Newsgroups.

If the Account Wizard does not immediately pop up, go to the Edit menu and select Mail and Newsgroup Account Settings. Click Add Account.

Select Email Account. Click Next.

Enter your Name and Email Address. Click Next.

Select POP for the type of mail server.

Enter mail.yourdomainname.com for Incoming Server.

If this is your only mail account, enter mail.yourdomainname.com for Outgoing Server. If you have an existing mail account and want to change the Outgoing Server, you may change it after finishing the wizard. Click Next.

Enter your Username. Click Next.

Give your account a name. Click Next.

Click Finish.

You have successfully configured Netscape 7 Mail!

Note

Usually, the port used for the Outgoing Mail Server/SMTP Service is 25. However, there might be a situation where your ISP might be blocking the use of port 25 for SMTP service. Many ISPs block port 25 in order to minimize the amount of spam sent using their network. If you are facing issues sending mails using the default port 25, you can confirm with your ISP whether port 25 is indeed blocked by them.

To circumvent this, Sibername allows you to use an alternate port 26 for sending mails if port 25 is blocked:
