A: It is the change of registrar from another company such as GoDaddy or Tucows to SiberName
Q: When can I transfer a domain name to you?
A: Your domain name must be older than 60 days.
Q: But my domain name is expired
A: We can still help until the domain name is deleted. Which is generally done after the 40 days of expiry. But you can also renew it with the existing registrar and transfer after.
Q: Will I get a free year after the transfer?
A: Your domain name expiry year will be extended 1 year once the domain transfer is completed. In other words you will also renew the domain name by transferring to us.
Q: How long does it take?
A: .CA domain names are generally transferred in less than 10 minutes. For the other extensions, it may be up to 7 days because the losing registrar needs to let the domain go manually for the first 7 days. If not the domain transfer is done automatically. You can expedite the transfer by contacting the losing registrar. But if they do not respond, it will be completed in 7 days automatically.
